If you’ve shopped with us before — or simply wandered into our corner of Denver to breathe in the calm — we think you know who we are. YUCCA isn’t just a shop. It’s a curation of thoughtful things. A slow, steady rebellion against fast fashion. A small business built with intention, rooted in sustainability, quality, and ethical sourcing.
Which is why we want to be honest with you about something that’s been quietly but deeply affecting how we do what we do.
The tariffs currently imposed on imported goods — especially those that come from the countries we source many of our most treasured, thoughtfully made pieces from - have hit small businesses like ours especially hard. Our industry, rooted in values that prioritize longevity over trend, fairness over profit, and planet over convenience, is absorbing financial burdens that larger corporate retailers can more easily sidestep (or simply pass along to you without blinking).
We’ve done everything we can to avoid raising prices. We’re still doing everything we can. But the reality is: this is hard. And it’s getting harder.
Still, we believe in the brands we carry. In the makers behind them. In the story each piece tells. And most importantly, we believe in you — our community of conscious shoppers who get it. Who know that every dollar spent at a small business is a vote for a more intentional, more local, more human way of living.
YUCCA isn’t just a business. It’s part of what makes this city feel like home. Supporting independent shops isn’t just kind — it’s crucial.
Thank you for continuing to choose small. It means everything.
With love & gratitude,
YUCCA Team
